Brian Dunlap is a talented musician, songwriter, producer hailing from Houston, Texas. Trained under the tutelage of such great musicians as William Portis, in the world famous Kashmere Stage Band, and Ronald James Materre, Associate Pastor-Minister of Music of the New Faith Church, Brian has become a recognized musical force on the Houston Gospel music scene. He has recorded with the Gospel Music Workshop of America Mens Choir and has written songs for the projects of up and coming Gospel artists such as Jamale Kempt. He has also accompanied world renowned Gospel artisits such as Tremaine Hawkins, Marvin Sapp, and Shirley Ceasar. He was recently appointed co-director of the Victory- N- Praise Young Adult Choir at the New Faith Church in Houston, Texas, where he is also the staff percussionist. In 2005 Brian was led to form D-Lap Productions, a production company dedicated to creating music that truly gives glory and honor to God and providing an outlet for local gospel talent. From that vision Brian brought 5 dynamic vocalists together to form Total Praise. Of the 11 tracks on the cd, Brian Dunlap wrote, produced and arranged 9 of the songs that have become the signature sound of the group. True to their name, Total Praise does just that! The premiere project, "Lift Him Higher", is an awesome compilation of contemporary rhythms coupled with traditional vocal styling and sound biblical messages. "Oh What a Sacrifice" and "You are King", are among the many selections that are sure to bless all who listen! There are also wonderful guest appearances by powerful psalmists Wilma Bivens, Andrea Baty, Angela Alfred-Richards of Women of Integrity, and Ronald James Materre. Total Praise is comprised of Michael Cook , Phoebe Varnado, Genella Clark, Aronika Horne and Tadessa Johnson-Williams.
