The members include: Ebony Cephus (27), Orchid Cephus (25), and Constance Cephus (22). Though members of the group were born in California and Louisiana, respectively; they have lived in Texas for eighteen years. They are currently located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. August 2nd 2010 the group released their debut album, “Generations.” Kevin “KP” Pittman, an up and coming producer, is at the helm of the project. The album’s name is quite fitting. Their father, Louis Cephus, composed three songs on the album, one of which is the single, “Jesus Is My Joy.” Their mother, Martha Cephus, a talented psalmist and pianist in her own right, is featured singing on two tracks on the album, written by their grandfather and great-grandfather. It is truly a family affair!
“Generations” is an album for seekers, those who truly desire an intimate encounter with God. The Cephus Sisters cite Psalm 24:6, “This is the generation of them that seek Him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah,” as the base scripture for the album. According to the group, the whole goal of the project is for people to see Christ and long for a deeper relationship with Him.
