This compilation CD is a result of filtering through all the musical Circio experiments - some not so pleasent - others, great successes. Distorted, mutated, and twisted creations found in the darkest regions of the brain. Often, permeated to a keyboard - sometimes to a guitar. Electric and resonate frequencies that entice and agitate the listener at the same time.
It all started as a fun project. A reaction to the glutteral excesses of ''so called'' electronic synth bands of the early 2000''s. Really just a couple of guys with some basic synths producing pulses and bips. No music knowledge needed - just push some sequencial buttons - and there it was. I created the first Circio''s Rapture album on a Casio keyboard/synth with only one guitar on the whole album - "Cubical Retreat" - which starts off the Best Of CD.
I then progressed to "Solenoid" which is my pinnacle of electronic music, but with guitars added. The title track actually has real solenoid noises from a pinball machine! After "Solenoid", I had no interest of creating more robotic sounding songs.
Since, I am an accomplished guitarist, the Circio CDs gradually changed to accomendate more guitars and less electronica. A straightening out of the cerebral cortex - more melody. The later CDs contain rock instrumentals with some electronica - a calling to the style. Quite listenable by any age or mind. This what CR has become and will most likely continue in this direction. But, then again, in Circio''s world, anything is possible.
