Carlos Pavan, born in Cordoba, Argentina (1977) began playing guitar at 12 and graduated from La Colmena (school of popular music) in 1997, at that time started teaching in private schools and travelling to Buenos Aires for guitar lessons with Pino Marrone. In the year 2000 arrived to New York to pursue musical studies and received a full scholarship at The Collective (Manhattan) for over two years.
He has studied with Pat Martino, Jack Wilkins, Paul Meyers, Gene Bertoncini, Peter Leitch, Alan de Mousse, Jonathan Kreisberg, Randy Johnston, Tom Millioto (Brooklyn Conservatory) Dario Esquenazi (Paquito de Rivera), Jorge Morel (classical guitar, composition, arranging), Dave Smey of Brooklyn Conservatory (counterpoint) and piano master Pablo Ziegler (Astor Piazzolla''s piano player for over ten years).
Carlos has been teaching private students, schools and workshops in Latin guitar music (in Argentina and New York) since 1998 focusing on Spanish/Latin guitar music and styles.
