Kate is a jazz singer and songwriter living in Pasadena, California. Currently studying voice at the LA Music
Academy under the guidance of Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton, Kate has worked with some of the best and brightest performers in the business including: Dorian Holley, Kathleen Grace, Peter Sprague, Roberto Montero, Sara Lieb, Sara Gazarek, Jo Lawry, Patrice Rushen, Dan Lutz.
Two of Kate’s biggest musical achievements have been performing for Al Jarreau as a semi-finalist in the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival, Shure Voice Competition (Switzerland), and launching her debut album Tipsy at Bennetts Lane (Melbourne, Australia) in 2007 (available on CD Baby & iTunes).
Prior to recording Tipsy, Kate studied jazz voice at the Elder Conservatorium of Music (Adelaide, Australia) under acclaimed Australian jazz singer Jo Lawry.
A keen stage performer, Kate is best known in her hometown of Adelaide, for her role as FiFi in the The Weimar Room’s acclaimed stage show The Berlin Cabaret, and was also nominated for an Adelaide Theatre Guide “Best Female Performance” Award for her one-woman tribute to Eva Cassidy – which she presented to sold out crowds during
Adelaide''s Cabaret Festival Fringe in 2004.
Other musical achievements have been winning the National Glenn Shorrock Scholarship Award for singer songwriters in 2005 and being awarded second place in the San Diego County Fair Musicpalooza contest for solo singers in 2010. Kate’s voice is also featured in the Grant Burge Wines Moscato national advertising campaign.
Katie has performed at several Southern California venues including: L’Ermitage Hotel (Beverly Hills), Café Metropol (Los Angeles), Kulak’s Woodshed (North Hollywood) and Tango Del Rey (San Diego).
