Unusual as it may sound, a musician of classical Persian background working in collaboration with a rock musician, Negar Bouban and Salim Ghazi Saeedi Project formed in 2010 when Negar and Salim started a joint project based on a classical/Persian piece Negar had composed. Negar stated "I hear electric guitar screaming all over this piece!" and Salim adapted it in rock instrumentation, composed/played electric guitar parts and “When There is More Beauty in the Contrary” was born.

About this collaboration Salim says: "I like creative approaches in which you adopt no framework in the first place. For this song, I listened to Negar''s material and started improvising on my electric guitar." Salim, mostly known as a progressive rock and jazz fusion musician adds: "In terms of musical integrity among genres, I think it is practically impossible to force this integrity to happen. Especially when it comes to fusion material, I think one should never decide to merge styles or be creative for the sake of being creative. It should all happen itself. And if you don''t see it coming, you should abandon the project."

Negar mentions: "I have been into Persian Classical music and 10-16th century musical systems of Middle East with their roots in Mesopotamia, and at the same time, as a university lecturer in Musical Acoustics, I find electric guitar amazingly unique in the history of inventing musical instruments. Electric guitar stands right on the border of the artist''s conscious and subconscious levels of mind in making music, being a lovable product of modern times'' technology. If you follow the story of Oud and electric guitar through time, along with their historical common backgrounds, you''ll come to a view with beautiful contradiction in their respective time and cultures, yet binding past and present, tradition and modernity."
