As a 25 year cancer survivor (I was 30 years old when I was diagnosed), I have a special place in my heart for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Along with my husband for support, I brought along my two year old daughter to doctor after doctor hoping for some hopeful news and a cure. My fast growing cancer had spread, and I wasn’t given much hope. Eventually I found a doctor who aggressively treated me and saved my life.
I have been fortunate to be able to help others throughout the years when they were diagnosed with breast cancer or faced surgery.
I wrote the song "The Promise" celebrating the promise Nancy Brinker made to her sister, Susan G. Komen. Her promise was to do everything she could to find a cure for breast cancer.
My daughter (yes, that two year old) is the singer. A portion of all proceeds will support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
