Steeler Country
No other sports franchise has such a loyal or rabid following as the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. With the fans in mind, we offer a new song that pays tribute to the 50 million fans who make up what is known as "Steeler Country."

"This is Steeler Country" is an upbeat, country song that has all the makings of a new Pittsburgh Steelers anthem for the stadium, home or any Steeler bar across the world. Steeler Country, as we all know, extends far beyond the city limits of Pittsburgh. It is loosely defined as "anywhere that a gathering of Steeler fans takes place." This song pays tribute to the fans that make that a reality each and every season, playing that all-important role of 12th man for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While many people have written fight songs, "This Is Steeler Country" is an authentic country song that can stand up against any modern country song being played on the radio and is guaranteed to have an audience anywhere it''s played. This is the magic of the fans who make Steeler Country a phenomenon no other sports franchise has ever experienced!

Steeler Bars
There are around 700 identified Steeler Bars throughout North America. While some of these bars are more "Steeler Friendly" than "Steeler Fanatic," it''s evident that the Steeler fanbase is not content to sit at home waving their Terrible Towel to an empty room. Steeler fans love to gather togther with other Steeler fans with whom there is an instant brother or sisterhood that exists. These Steeler Bars have been a huge part of creating the landscape of Steeler fans known as Steeler Country. As our way of saying "thanks" for all these bars have done, we want to get a free CD copy of "This Is Steeler Country" to every fanatic bar we can find. If you are an owner, please e-mail us your information so we can send you a CD!
The Men Behind the Song
A group of four people are responsible for This is Steeler Country. You can read in depth about the creation of the song, from conception to final product and beyond by clicking the Blog link to the left. The shorter version is this: D.M. Lovic and his buddy Nate Smith were at a Steelers preseason game talking about the possibility of a new Steelers song taking the place of the old one. (No offense to the writer of the old song, but it felt to us like it was time for something new.) Nate said, "You should write a new song and if you want people to like it, write a country song." (Nate is in marketing/sales for a local AD agency called Wall|Wall and D.M. Lovic has been a songwriter for over twenty years.) D.M., thinking this a swell idea, began to ruminate on the possibilites and came up with the melody and words "Hold your head up high, you''re in Steeler country now." The rest of the song was built around this phrase. Then, D.M. made an initial demo at 6 a.m. while his family slept nearby (which is still posted on https://www.tradebit.com, here) and sent a link to a couple friends, including Nate. D.M. called Walter Ino, long-time friend and local Producer/Musician extraordinarre. D.M. put ad on CraigsList for singer and found Kevin Morgan and convinced him to sing the song. We all went into the studio in early September and after multiple Tuesdays and many accumulated hours of work, had a version of "This Is Steeler Country." DM started working on the websites and conceiving the video ideas, Nate started making calls and executing a marketing strategy and Walter and Kevin silently hoped we were onto something here and that all this hard work would eventually pay off. And after all of that, it''s only the beginning of the story. At the time of this writing, we are a awaiting a final mix from Walter Ino. Then, we''ll be able to start sending out copies to people, posting videos on YouTube and trying to drive traffic to our sites. This is no minor production, as you can see!

If we accomplish what we set out to do, it will all be worth it. To have our song sung by the fans at Heinz Field some day would be the highest honor for all of our hard work.

Any inquiries from media or parties interested in having us perform the song live can be directed to D.M. by clicking Contact.
