The giranimals started in 2004 with Connie and Maurice Crandall, a married couple with no prior band experience. Since forming, they have performed with acts such as The Shins, Beirut, The Thermals, The Helio Sequence, The Album Leaf, Los Campesinos, and many, many others. The process has been evolutionary, with lineup changes and musical explorations into ever-expanding territory. The giranimals combine vocal harmonies, lush instrumentations, and clever song arrangements to produce pop music that is highly listenable and catchy, but never annoying. You can hear traces of influences ranging from the Zombies to The Breeders, but it is never derivative. The giranimals make music you will not mind having in your head.
