Ready for something different? After riding the guitar band road for years, the writer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Bobby Pickett finally felt that for him, it was played out. A quantum leap beckoned: a journey into a world without frets. After his fateful switch in 2006 to the violin, the endless sustain and soaring ëvioliní tone that rock guitarists have prized since Hendrix stole Pete Townshendís thunder at once seemed oxymoronic and redundant to Pickett. It was all there and more with four strings, an amp and a bow. Long Live VIO-ROCK!
At a 2009 Christmas time jam session near "the Crater" where he''d spent thousands of hours trying to master this new instrument, Bobby met Kevin "Kevlar" Templeton, a completely ambidextrous singing Jazz Rock Drummer to help launch Pickett''s Vio-Rock vision. The final irreplaceable "molecule" came in late January, 2010, with Bassist John Lebel. John genuinely enjoys performing, entertaining, and doing what his instrument is supposed to do and more-hold down the bottom end, and support the songs while achieving his MASSIVE, SIGNATURE SOUND. In less than 5 months their debut CD, "Notz Fast Enough" was made.
