On his Rosemary Songs EP, Patton Thomas scales back and strips down to the bare bones of his experimentalism; one man, one guitar, one amplifier. Of course, nothing is that simple in the experimentalist realm Thomas finds inspiration in. Desecrating all concept of music theory and ripping through any conceivable volume barrier, the "stripped down" release is in fact perhaps his heaviest and most brutal effort yet. The riffs, if you can call them that, burn against the harmonic feedback laced amongst Thomas'' guttural, heart wrenching poetry, only to give way to somber passive balladry which echoes into a dark place known personally to each listener. Violence; in it''s most passionate, honest and introspective form; this, truly, is antimusic.
