Yulia Ziskel has established herself as a highly acclaimed solo, chamber, and orchestral musician in the United States and around the world. Her activities range from being one of the youngest members of the New York Philharmonic''s First Violin section, to numerous international solo and chamber music appearances.

Ms. Ziskel gave her solo recital debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in March of 2002. She has been praised by the Strad Magazine for "...the sweetness of her sound".

As a soloist and chamber musician, she has also performed in such venues as Avery Fisher, Alice Tully and Merkin Halls in New York City, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Italy, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall and the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory in Russia, among many others.

Other performances include critically acclaimed guest concertmaster appearances with the Key West Symphony Orchestra performing Rimsky-Korsakov''s "Sheherezade", solo performances with the New York Chamber Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburgh Chamber Orchestra, the Julius Grossman Orchestra, the Indiana University Chamber and Concert Orchestras, and regular chamber music appearances as a member of New York Philharmonic Ensembles. Ms. Ziskel has also performed in faculty recitals at the Juilliard School, and at "Cremona Viva", an International Exhibit of Cremonese Instruments in New York City. Her performance at the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra''s "Meanings of Tchaikovsky" Festival was praised by the New York Times, New Jersey Star Ledger, and by the New Jersey Classical Society Journal.

Ms. Ziskel has participated in numerous music festivals, including Bellingham, Sarasota and Pacific Music Festivals, and was concertmaster of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan. She has also appeared on numerous radio programs, including "The Listening Room", hosted by Robert Sherman on WQXR.

Yulia Ziskel''s awards include First Prize in the "Assembly of Arts" International Violin Competition and the Anna Bernstein Memorial Award.

Before her appointment to the New York Philharmonic in 2001, Ms. Ziskel was a member of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Ziskel was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and began her musical training on the violin and piano at age 4. She made her solo debut at the age of 7 at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall and at age 12 as a soloist with St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra. During her teenage years she has toured extensively appearing in solo recitals throughout Russia, Germany, Finland, Poland and United States. While in Russia she was a recipient of the "The New Names" grant, one of the highest honors for young talents. In 1994, Ms. Ziskel''s family emigrated to the United States, where she completed her Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University, and upon graduation, received an "Honorary Certificate for Outstanding Performance in Violin". Her first solo CD features her spanning 100 years of great music, performing works by Henryk Wieniawsky, Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky, Eugene Ysaye, Johannes Brahms, and Nicolo Paganini. The disc also includes collaborations with renowned pianist Tatiana Goncharova.
