From the Quatro Sisters’ archives comes the emergence of their lost live and original tapes from an era of sheer raw, driving energy that burst out of Detroit in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. The 2 CD anthology will be a look backwards, starting with the CRADLE EP (part I), followed by the release of the PLEASURE SEEKERS EP (part II), coming early 2011.
CRADLE was the early 1970’s female rock group, evolving out of The Pleasure Seekers, (who had a reputation in the 60’s as perhaps the best and earliest all-female rock band. ) Starting on a dare, the Pleasure Seekers had singles out by the time they were in their mid teens, and were the youngest female rock musicians to be signed to a national label. With the multi-talented sisters Patti, Suzi, Nancy, and Arlene Quatro and company, these teenagers dared to go where women had not gone before, against all odds, stomping their way into a male dominated heavy rock scene.
In 1969, morphing into CRADLE, the sisters continued in a much harder direction, contributing relevant lyrics, creative harmonies, and heavy original music with attitude. CRADLE rocked the house with the legends of the day, paving the way for many female musicians to be taken seriously as hard rockers.
The Cradle lineup (first release) included: Suzi Quatro (bass, vocals, and keys), Nancy Quatro (vocals, percussion, violin, bass, and keys), Patti Quatro (vocals and guitars), and Nancy Rogers (drums, vocals, and tympani). Later additions to group were Leigh and Lynne Serridge (drums and bass, both on vocals).
Touring the country extensively, CRADLE played many concert halls and large pop festivals with Mountain, Black Sabbath, Peter Frampton, Jefferson Airplane, Ted Nugent, Santana, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Joe Cocker, Bob Seger, and many other legends of the day. Though they were gaining momentum, CRADLE’S ride was sadly cut short with the hard struggle women had to find credibility with the record companies, finally breaking up in 1973.

Suzi Quatro, signed by Micki Most in 1971 (Rak Records) went on to enormous success in England, breaking loose fronting her own group, and having a long and productive career filled with numerous hit albums and singles all over the world. Suzi also is known as Leather Tuscadero from Happy Days, and starred in two stage musicals, "Annie Get You Gun" and "Tallulah Who". She also enjoys recognition as an author, TV actress, and radio dj, in England and Europe. Suzi is still actively touring and recording, with her latest single out, “Singing with Angels” (a tribute to Elvis), and a new album due out summer 2010.
Patti Quatro went on to play with brother Michael (classical rock keyboardist), touring, recording and co-producing the album “Look Deeply Into the Mirror”. She then joined forces with Fanny, recording Rock And Roll Survivor, with two charted singles, “Butter Boy” and “I’ve Had It” from that album. When Fanny ended, Patti did studio work with groups such as ELO, Keith Moon (Who), Harry Nillson, Bonnie and Delaney, and Frances Gall. She is presently in production with co-partner Nancy, in the Quatro sisters CD’s, and running Cradle Rocks Publishing, as well as other future musical projects.
Nancy Quatro pursued a solo career for a short time in L.A, teaming up with Roy Silver (manager of Fanny, Bill Cosby, Ryan O’Neal and many others) before deciding to leave the business to raise her family. She is now a restaurant owner, and runs nglass management, a company handling artist development and promotions. She also manages rock group Overscene, who just finished touring with Sevendust. She is also partnering with sister Patti in the Cradle and Pleasure Seekers projects.
Arlene Quatro went on to manage Cradle from 1969 to 1973. When Cradle ended, Arlene left the business to raise her family, still keeping her hand in playing at local clubs for guest appearances as a keyboardist/singer. Later Arlene released a book in the health field and is presently heavily involved in environmental issues.
Nancy Rogers continued playing and touring the country with various rock groups through the years. In late 70''s and 80''s, Nancy was the house drummer at Sound Machine recording studios in Kalamazoo, MI. At present she keeps up her drumming skills with occasional gigs, as well as running a side business around the country.
Leigh Serridge played with various groups through the years, now retired from drumming.
Lynne Serridge has continued to play up through the present day, turning to a new country music genre, with her successful group, Lynne and the Rebels, with numerous recordings out and still available.
Bios of the other women who played with the Quatro sisters will be posted upon release of the 2nd CD of this retrospective project in early 2011.....The Pleasure Seekers "What a Way to Die".
