Carey Dyer is a gifted professional singer, comedian, and speaker. His “slice-of-life” humor, vocal prowess and high-octane energy have garnered comparisons to top New York and Las Vegas acts.
Among other large-venue performances, Carey was recently honored to sing for former President George H.W. Bush, Mrs. Barbara Bush and Texas Governor Rick Perry at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of the National Museum of the Pacific War.
In February 2011 Carey was pleased to announce the release of his debut recording project, Slow Down. “Slow Down is like a little musical seed that I’ve been wanting to plant and water for a long time.” Going back to his musical roots, Carey’s collection includes new arrangements of classic hymns as well as several original songs. “I only consider myself a budding songsmith, but with #1 hit songwriter Elliott Park at the producing helm of this project, I felt that I was in good hands. It’s so satisfying to see your musical and lyrical ideas fully realized by such professionals. I’m very excited with the way this album turned out, and my hope is that God will use it to be a huge blessing to others.”
Since his class-clown days in high school, Carey has performed in 46 states – solidifying his role as a seasoned professional. He has logged literally thousands of hours on stage as a professional entertainer, and his writing has appeared in several periodicals and drama collections. He’s a featured arranger and songwriter for Sound Music Productions, and his creative arrangements have been performed by vocal groups all over the country. In September of 2006, Carey was one of five finalists for “Best Vocalist of the Month”, awarded by Singer Universe Magazine. He is also a member of the Christian Comedy Association. However, his favorite role of all is hubby and daddy. Carey and his wife, author/speaker Dena Dyer, have two sons and make their home in Amarillo, Texas.
