Jay''s music paints a mind''s eye picture that will inspire both the young and old. He combines heart felt melodies and lyrics with warm layered guitar tones that will take you for an enjoyable ride throughout each track.

Jay fell in love with music when he was just a kid back in the 70s. He taught himself how to play guitar by picking up his older brother’s kid size acoustic guitar and figuring out how to play long with his record albums. These albums included artist such as: The Eagles, The Beatles, James Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Buffett, America, Pink Foyd, KISS, Simon & Garfunkel, RUSH, Neil Young, REO Speedwagon, and of course "that little ol'' band from Texas" - ZZ Top, to name a few.

In 1976 Jay''s uncle, Lou Stewart, was working with the Eagles during their production and release of "Hotel California".  Jay got to visit the Eagles'' studio and meet Joe Walsh.  That experience so many years back was very inspirational to a young kid with a newly acquired used Guild electric guitar that his dad purchased for him from a pawn shop.

In 1981 Jay graduated from High School and went to Bowling Green to attend WKU and study commercial art.  While in Bowling Green he played music with friends and fraternity brothers.  He and his fraternal big brother Dennis Holt formed an acoustic band called “Behind Time” that played music ranging from Bill Monroe to Jimmy Buffett.  Jay later met Terry Malone (drummer) and Matt Sternstein (lead guitar) and formed a college rock band called "Higher Education" that played rock classics and some of Jay''s original tunes.

After graduating from WKU he moved back to Louisville where he eventually reunited with (his drummer) Terry Malone.  They added Matt Garlove (bass) and Geoff Springer (lead guitar) forming a band called "The Wendells".  The Wendells played a variety of venues in the Louisville area and recorded several of Jay''s original songs before splitting up.

Jay played in a variety of bands and continued to write songs throughout the 80s and 90s.  Then he stopped for about 10 years following a car accident in 1998 where his throat and tongue were severely injured.  While he hardly picked his guitar following the accident, Jay didn''t loose his love and passion for music. In fact, he developed new appreciation as he listened from the "sidelines".

About two years ago at the prompting of some friends, Mike Minogue (guitar) and Mike Prather (mandolin), Jay started playing, singing, and writing again. Once he started writing again, the melodies, chord progressions, and lyrics began pouring out and continue flow.

He recently connected with Turley Richards and along with some other friends, helped him complete this 6 song EP that is getting great reviews by friends, fans, and media.
