Lead singer, Joan Zaccone tells the semi-biographical story of Shotgun Hill and her grandmother, Myrtle Rivers, in this rousing hillbilly ballad about the bootlegging business taking place behind Myrtle’s Shotgun Diner and how the development of a new highway not only broke up the bootleggers but the diner and the town’s only freight train service as well.
