Details:
After disbanding the folk-rock outfit, The Marinators, in 2003, Matt Reischling returned to San Diego three years later to visit friends and ended up recording a short collection of new songs on the lot of a recently abandoned church. Produced by Kyle Thompson and including the talents of drummer Dominic Carrillo and keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Scott Mercado (among others), the EP is a high on energy and exuberance as it was the first time in a while Reischling felt creatively liberated and inspired. This translated into songs that are both playful and fun, yet still emotionally powerful. In the end, it was a moment in time that came and went and documents what it sounds like to be in transition, grappling with the highs and lows of life.
