Mazarin Cut is a Norwegian duo magically making indie-pop with sing-along-anthems. The duo consists of Jiggy and Chrispy. Their time lines intersected way back in Middle school where their fellow class mates saw them scowl at each other on each side of the football pitch. This lasted for 15 years until the unfriendly memories lost its luster and they began to make music together. With new-found friendship they approached 2010 head first with the desire to create the musical universe you are currently rocking out to. The name Mazarin Cut refers to a specific way of shaping diamonds, just like the stones, the music is shiny and valuable, but not necessarily available to all. Imagine the son of Robert Smith making out with Robyn accompanied by Teenage Fanclub. The lyrics deal with everything from the all mighty big questions in life, such as "what am I doing here on this earth," "I''m so damn happy, should I be?" to more basic ideas related to how much is more than enough. In other words, misanthropy and joy of life in perfect union. The goal now is to transform the demos into an accomplished production and release our debut record in the second half of 2011. Mazarin Cut do what they have to do and they have big enough shoes to leave footprints wherever they may emerge in the muddy music business. Enjoy!
