Details:
Also known as The Rhodes Tavern Troubadours, the RTTs burst on to the DC music scene in 2002 with their critically acclaimed album, On the Red Line, earning WAMMIE awards for “Best New Band” and “Best Pop/Rock Band”.

The Washington Post:
“The quartet pays homage to the past by playing roots rock, country, swing and R&B with more flair than any band in town. They can strut through a Ray Price shuffle, break your heart on the soul standard "The Dark End of the Street" or get your feet moving with originals that sound like tracks from a long-lost NRBQ record.”

In 2004 the RTTs set their sights on the younger set with the release of Turn it Up Mommy! The album served up infectious rock ‘n’ roll that was as much fun for kids as it was their parents. The album received wide-spread airplay on XM Radio.

The Washington Post:
“Chances are kids who receive Turn It Up Mommy! from their parents will see right
through the ruse and ask: Whose present is this, anyway? That''s because grown-ups will probably crank up "Turn It Up" far more often than their offspring -- especially adults fond of, say, NRBQ or the Traveling Wilburys or just about any variety of Chuck Berry-flavored or Telecaster-twangy roots rock.”

CD Baby:
“This CD absolute made me do a double take, ‘This is for kids?!’ Turn it Up Mommy charts the fine balance between an album that’s fun, catchy, kid-friendly, and yet classic while being respectable and considerate of grown ups. This is no less than kids music with adult integrity.”

With the release of Goodie Bag, The RTTs once again set their sites on the whole family. Featuring songs about the demise of the pay phone, winning the DC lottery and giving it all away, and Marion Barry, this is a record the whole family can agree on.
