Details:
Here’s To My Demise began in 2006 when childhood friends Jameson Bozsik and Joshua Cox decided to start writing and recording an array of songs using their voices and an acoustic guitar. They were confident, but felt that the act wasn’t complete, and they would occasionally attempt to bring on other members, although none of them showed the dedication Cox and Bozsik were looking for. They recorded fifteen tracks with producer Pat McNulty, mainly for the sake of showing to friends and family. The project continued like this for about 3 years, playing in bars and coffee shops around Northeast Ohio, until the two young artists had reached what they perceived to be a dead end in the summer of 2009. They decided to take a break, and possibly put an end to it. After sitting idle for about 6 months, Cox found himself itching to rejoin the musical community. He contacted Bozsik, who felt the same, and the two soon reopened the folders and began working on Here’s To My Demise once again. Shortly after this, they talked to high school friend Adrian Dunkley, who had recently begun playing bass, and a few successful jam sessions etched his name onto the list of members. The three practiced this way for about a month, putting acoustic bass tracks to Cox and Bozsik’s melodies. Then, in late 2009, Bozsik met Shump, another aspiring musician. A session was scheduled, and the four young musicians felt instant compatibility. Here’s To My Demise had finally become what Cox and Bozsik were originally hoping for. All the parts assembled, the band instantly began working with the prewritten material, recording the song “In Time…” with McNulty within a month. Throughout 2010, they have been working diligently on performing, recording, practicing, and writing collaboratively. The music frequently uses bass, drums, and vocals to exaggerate the mood provided by the acoustic melody. Some songs will have you singing along and humming hours after you''ve listened to them, where some contain odd structures and harmonies that will keep listeners coming back for more. HTMD is highly active and highly dedicated, so keep an ear to the stone and we will keep on keepin on.
