Details:
In Erosia, there is no such thing as marriage or divorce; only love. There is no such thing as money; only giving and receiving, which are equally fulfilling. Children bear the surname of their mothers, because a mother carries a child for nine months. The royal family is the Valentines- therefore, every day is Valentine’s Day, and every moment is a chance to explore passion and celebrate love.

In the legend of Erosia, Prince Ruby Valentine is a seductive, elusive guitarist. He is addicted to freedom, obsessed with evading his royal duties and escaping expectation, terrified of needing anybody because he will inevitably be abandoned. Eventually he is exiled from Erosia for losing faith in Love. The Muse, Erica Xenne, an eternal child in a woman’s body, follows her beloved Ruby into exile. She is determined to find him, restore his faith in Love, and bring him back to Erosia. She is warned that outside Erosia, her magic powers will disappear; and that no one has ever returned to Erosia after leaving, because people become tainted in the outside world, known as Dystopia. But Erica is in love, so nothing can stop her.

In Dystopia, Erica’s magical singing voice disappears, and she speaks in a whisper.  After a long search, she finds Ruby, distraught from alcohol and indiscriminate sex, more dirty and cynical than ever. She sings songs in her whisper, lamenting Ruby''s self destruction.  Her first album, Slave to Freedom, is a love note to Ruby. The guitar lines include pieces of songs they played together in Erosia. It is structured as a conversation between Erica (vocalist) and Ruby (guitarist).  The backup singers are other beautiful women who also loved Prince Ruby and failed to possess him or cure his self destructive ways with their love.

Erica Xenne and Ruby Valentine are present in all of us. We all have a part of us like Ruby; that feels beaten down by defeat, and cannot see a reason to fight for what we believe because nothing will ever change; the world is too cruel. We want to take the path of least resistance, sleep late, get drunk, avoid expectations, do what we please moment to moment, and forget about the impact. But we also have Erica Xenne in us- the eternal child, clothed in white, reflecting all the colors of the world but never absorbing them, remaining pure, allowing music to write itself through us, allowing ourselves to be a vessel for all of the pain and suffering in the world, but turning it into something inspirational. We all have the side of us that wants to save everyone, never stops believing in magic, never gives up on love. These parts of us battle each other, hate each other, love each other and need each other until the end of our days.
