Details:
Amy Ferguson is “grandma dirt.” Her mother gave her this nickname when she was a child because she would walk slow and refused to bathe. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Amy grew up with a lot of exposure to the arts. Piano was her first instrument. She sang in the church and school choirs, and her passion for acting came out in children’s theatre. As a late teen she picked up the guitar and began writing music. Ten years and over 200 songs later, she chose 5 tracks and recorded them for her debut ep, “through the pavement.”
Amy carried on her talents to New York City, where she moved after high school. There she booked acting roles in films such as “Garden State.” While in New York she played at various bars and small venues, but still didn’t record. Another acting opportunity brought her to her current residence in Los Angeles. After a few years of working in independent film and playing music at different venues such as the Whiskey a go go, she decided to finally record her first project. She is very excited to share this one aspect of her music, and looks forward to recording more of her songs.
