Rising from the ashes of Salem, OR pop-rock band Crossing 13th, Blaine Vogt, Jarred Venti, and Tim Sieroslawski reunited to form Groove Thief in April, 2010. These three men played together for nearly three years in Crossing 13th, which went through various lineup changes over the years before disbanding in February 2010.
Groove Thief started as Vogt, Sieroslawski and Venti began jamming together. These sessions revealed that a new sound was emerging from that trio-- drawing less from modern influences, but instead from their predecessors from the 60s and 70s such as Jimi Hendrix, Bad Company, and Led Zeppelin. This band was only missing one component…a lead guitar player. After a brief search, the band didn’t have to look any further when they found Matt Ryan. Ryan’s impressive yet tasteful guitar chops, Sieroslawski’s dynamic drum stylings, Venti’s in-the-pocket bass grooves, and Vogt’s versatility (both on the guitar and vocally) combine to form a sound that engages and delivers every time.
Within months of their start, Groove Thief have been featured on 101.1 KUFO and Ransack Radio, and have been written of in Oregon Live, the Statesman Journal and Salem Weekly.
