This seven song EP is music that I''ve been wanting to make for a long, long time - combining the lyrical power of traditional Celtic melodies with old school funk, blues, jazz, and gospel, rocking improvised solos and new arrangements. The idea was to create a sound that feels uptown, but Celtic at the same time: just like Inwood, my old neighborhood in Manhattan which gave me the title.
There are some amazing, world class players on this CD. Alan White (whose credits include playing drums for YES, and John Lennon, and George Harrison), Garey Shelton (Grammy winning fretless electric bass), Ben Smith (the current drummer for Heart), and Eric Robert on keys.
