"The Winter Moon" is an inspired collection of ancient yuletide carols that interweaves the melodies of the harp (Ann Borden), the flute (Sharon Fogarty), and the fiddle (Nora Garver). Some of the tracks include guest artists on percussion (Bill Smith, Jonathan Mover) and voice (Rhiannon Giddens).

The music of Immigrant''s Daughter evokes the magic of Ireland, Scotland, and the British Isles. The group plays rousing jigs and reels, and will enchant you with its soulful airs and waltzes. Immigrant''s Daughter strives to express the musical traditions of their immigrant forebears, combining them with their American heritage and classical backgrounds to create their own unique blend of music.

The bios of the three members of Immigrant''s Daughter follow:

Ann Rose Borden graduated with her bachelors in harp performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She plays both concert and Celtic harp and creates innovative ways to enliven the music. She teaches both traditional and classical harp in her private studio in Greensboro, NC, where she also gives master classes, performs, and meets with her student harp ensemble. 1n 1986 she won the national Clarsach (Scottish harp) competition in Alexandria, VA and was the official harper of Clan Rose in America. She has played as a professional harpist for over 25 years.

Sharon Fogarty is a music graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She pays tribute to her Irish heritage with her whistles, and flutes. She teaches at the Community Music School of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and at her home studio in Winston-Salem, NC. Her students have been competition prize winners, and winners of principle chairs with the Winston-Salem Youth Symphony and All-County/All-District bands, She has
performed with the Silver Winds Flute Choir and was a Principle piccolo player for the Piedmont Wind Symphony.

Nora Garver has been playing traditional fiddle since 1989, starting with American Old Time, then moving to Irish and Scottish. She had all of her classical violin training through grade school, including 2 years at Interlochen Arts Academy. Making the transition later in life to traditional fiddle, she won a number of regional Scottish Fiddle competitions and went on to compete twice in the Nationals. She composes original tunes and teaches fiddle in her home studio in Winston-Salem, NC. She also plays in a Scottish Country dance band called Controlled Abandon, and co-directs the Triad Scottish Fiddlers and Friends.
