''Less Than Sober'' are a 6-piece outfit originating from the West Coast of Scotland who have laboured extremely hard over the past two years in the tireless pursuit of being recognised as the best working class band for several decades. Gok, Chuggs, Andy, Joe, Jamie and Darren have a shared desire to perfect their own unique blend of infectious indie/rock while maintaining distinct melodic and rhythmical sensibilities.
As individual musicians each member of the band come from an array of different experiences and comfortably hold their own with any style or genre. However, it is when they combine these impressive abilities that ''Less Than Sober'' really excel delivering powerful and energetic performances that can command any audience. This has best been described by one particular famous music mogul as a “Memorable, Wild and Infectious Presence”
Now that’s the obvious official introduction but what most people want to know is
“What sets the band aside from their counterparts?”
Well initially it is not to conform to predictable stereotypes of the genre/industry but strive to let the music reflect what they are ultimately about.
The sheer unlikelihood of ‘Less Than Sober’ even being in existence let alone the unbelievable progress they have made is however, THE REAL STORY. Each individual’s personal backgrounds are so diverse and brilliantly demonstrate how to overcome significant trials and tribulations. All of these victory’s were won before the guys even met but stretch from desperate lows such as: drug addiction, prison sentences, clinical depression and redundancy to soaring highs such as: touring Europe, graduating, recording contracts and not certainly forgetting having SEVERAL children.
Gok, Chuggs, Andy, Joe, Jamie and Darren were all mainly complete and utter strangers until various chance encounters or head hunting exercises through local ‘open mic’ nights and competitions. Lastly this was the catalyst that was required, ‘Less Than Sober’ knew immediately within the first 10 minutes of playing together that they could and would deliver something special while shattering countless pre-conceptions.
More recently LESS THAN SOBER have:
Finished in top 5 of the national ''Live & Unsigned 2010'' grand final at the O2 arena out of 10,000 entrants where Noddy Holder, Shola Ama and Annie Nightingale offered them significant plaudits.
Completed a documentary on playing at world famous Liverpool venue ‘The Cavern’ with a well established Glasgow based Media Company associated with Hollywood actor David Hayman.
Launched their Debut single ‘Like no Other’ which can now be downloaded globally through digital ‘on-line’ distributors such as: iTunes, Emusic, Napster, GreatIndieMusic, Amazon MP3, https://www.tradebit.com, ThumbPlay, MySpace Music, Rhapsody, Zune and CD Baby.
Have been the first ever Scottish band earmarked to be signed directly to a Beverly Hills label in the U.S.A.
