FROM THE ARTIST: In 1992, I challenged myself to rearrange a traditional Christmas carol in my musical style of the time, with the intent of copying the finished product and distributing it to friends and family as a holiday gift. I continued the tradition a number of years and ended up with this five-song compilation, titled The Holiday Arrangements. These are new, generally "electronica"-ish interpretations of time-worn holiday melodies. There''s unexpected instrumentation, dissonance and unusual phrasings. Liberties have been taken. Some listeners find these songs darker and more introspective. That said, I hope you find in this collection the sense of celebration that was intended, a little funkiness, and maybe even a sense of humor.
