MP3 Random55 - Successful Attempts At Failure

Hard-driving punk influenced by the Chicago punk sound of Naked Raygun, Pegboy, The Effigies and the Lawrence Arms.

6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Punk, ROCK: Rockabilly

Details:
Chicago is probably best known for being hometown to such legends as The Effigies, Naked Raygun, Pegboy and Hugh Hefner. But it was also here that, in the fall of 1995, a group of overindulgent lads converged to publicly voice their hatred for "popular" boring music. More importantly, however, was their sincere love for the fast and exciting music that they had grown up with: NAKED RAYGUN, JOAN JETT, THE RAMONES, STRAY CATS, THE CLASH, BAD RELIGION and SOCIAL DISTORTION, to name a few.

Alongside a few other noteworthy bands and friends, primarily Mest, The Arrivals, The Tossers and The Matics, Random55 were the standard bearers of a newer, leaner, tougher breed of suburban street punk inspired by London and L.A. punks. The band soon forged their own distinctive sound -- a souped-up hot rod with a Clash body, Social D frame, and running on hi-octane rock with a noticeable Naked Raygun additive. Early singles and tracks like Dear Near, I Don''t Care and Bulletproof, introduced the band to a crowd outside Chicago and kicked the door open for the influential tour with long-time friends and mentors, Joan Jett and Kenny Laguna.

Whether touring, recording, or making an appearance, Random55 go balls out! Five guys, who started out playing early punk songs in the back room of a punk-rock record shop on the south side of Chicago, have fought, kicked and scratched for every single ounce of respect and success they''ve ever gotten. They are the truest form of PUNK ROCK and like a good Rocky movie, Random55 are heart and soul underdogs.
