2. Slam Magazine- Article
Rebirth is a true metal band in every sense of the word. It''s refreshing to hear in today''s times when so much of the artists are boy bands and the music is comprised of rip offs of old school riffs. It seems like most popular radio hits are that or 25 year olds writing songs that sound like they''re still 16. slam (45K)

On their new CD, Rebirth covers topics from how the T.V. controls so much of people''s decisions today, to how a mother''s influence caused her life to turn out bad. On the last track of the album, "1000 miles" (Undying Will), they talk about how important it is to take each day for all it''s worth, no matter what you fear and that you, too, can succeed.

Made up of Marshall Beck on vocals, J.P. Flores on guitar, Rory Larson on bass, and Erick Ledesma on drums, Rebirth knows what they want and how to get it. Their sound reminds you of the good old metal days and bands like Slayer and Flotsam & Jetsam. They actually solo, too, a seemingly lost art in metal these days.

The most surprising moment of the album was when "Cycles of the World" started. It comes in with very soft strummed guitar and quiet vocals. It''s probably the closest they will ever come to a ballad, but it''s anything but. It is very reminiscent of Pantera''s version of Planet Caravan (originally by Black Sabbath), but it''s telling of the cycle of life and acceptance of events that happen throughout it, from growing apart from friends, aging, and even death.

Rebirth will be here for a while, so make sure to see them and pick up this CD. You won''t be deceived.

Rebirth would like to thank Carl Jenkins and the rest of the S.L.A.M. team for writing this review. for more info on S.L.A.M Magazine, go to their web-site: "https://www.tradebit.com"

3. Bio:

Rebirth is a band that is contrived of four different individuals who contribute a different element of
heavy music to their sound. Rory Larson, bass, contributes an 80''s metal rythm section tapping upon such influences as Megadeth, early Metallica, and Metal Church.
Marshall Beck, vocals, contributes a wide range of emotion using influences as diverse as Jim Morrison of The Doors, to Glen Benton of Deicide, and Phil Anselmo of Pantera, while still contributing melody to Rebirth''s music. Guitarist, J.P. Flores, is influenced greatly by the classic thrash sounds of Pantera and Slayer while fusing the newer melodic approach of such bands as Avenged Sevenfold, Soilwork, and Dream Theatre. Rebirth''s Drummer, Eric Ledesma, is influenced not only by technical metal bands such as Dream Theatre but he also taps upon the influence of such bands as Fear Factory, and Metallica. Rebirth''s lineup was completed in the late March of 2003. Sense its'' completion Rebirth has accomplished many great things in a very short period of time. Rebirth is known for having a devastating live performance, and posses the ability to turn a "non-metal" croud into a mass of raving metal lunatics. Because of Rebirth''s catchy hooks, raw energy, and their ability to play heavy metal music while still maintaining a strong sense of melody, they are able to draw fans from all corners of the musical spectrum.

4. Acomplishments:

Rebirth has self-financed their own merchandies, which sells out frequently, such as t-shirts, stickers, and cd''s. Their growing reputation has allowed them to play shows with such national acts as F5(David Ellifson of megadeath), Exodus, Hemlock, Vehemence, and Crematorium, to name a few. They have earned a tremendous amount of respect in the metal community after the self-release of their first album, "The Great Deceiver".
