MP3 Broken Tailight - Falling Forward

Sparkling harmony and energetic guitar work are just the starting points of Broken Tailight''s acoustic debut "Falling Forward."

10 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, FOLK: Folk Pop

Details:
Broken Tailight went on permanent hiatus in the fall of 2005. But a one time reunion is likely at some point...Till then, pick up this disc to relive all the acoustic goodness.

The phrase Falling Forward can take on many meanings, but as the title of the singular album of Washington DC acoustic duo Broken Tailight, it is a reflection of two songwriters moving in the right direction. Blending sparkling vocal harmony with exciting, energetic guitar work, Todd Daniel and Patrick Garrity give their takes on life, love, and loss. Among the highlights are the album''s opener, "Pain Creeps In," a coy and upbeat analysis of life as a 20-something, while "The Give & Take" speaks tounge-in-cheek about the nature of the male/female dynamic. "Out of the Blue" deals with uncertainty, while "In Your Hands" takes on ambition. There''s also the loss of family in "The Ring on Your Finger" and a final tribute in "Before You Go."

But perhaps the most common theme throughout the album is the sense of optimism. Letting the songs stand alone, with just two guitars and two voices, Broken Tailight''s debut gives the sense of something big just around the next bend. And in listening to this album it becomes clear that "Falling Forward" is not only the title, but a way to describe Broken Tailight...they may not know what''s ahead, but they''ll sure have fun getting there.
