The band has been performing together for just over a year, but the combined professional skills they bring comprises nearly 80 years of musical experience. Their short history is offset by the wide variety of venues they’ve played, and the strong supportive fan base they have gathered gives testament to their talents.
The bassist, Bruce Baycroft, lays down some deep riffs to anchor the band, The horns, Terry Kosowick & Shawn Smith, play a tight line weaving in and out of the melody...stretching boundaries, and always returning back to the original tune, lead guitarist, Daniel Cook, plays with a fluidity that takes you on a journey, you can''t just listen, you experience it, along with drummer Max Jones, who spices, funks, swings, and keeps the party moving all night long, and finally their lead vocalist, has an electrifying energetic stage presence. Maureen Washington adds power under great control to each piece. She can belt out with the best of them, and then tone down to a sultry, smoky, intimate, ear-stroking kind of sweetness unlike any other singer in Northern BC.
When BOP plays, people have fun. The band will dash headlong into improvisation but does not stray from their prime purpose: to be the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
