Details:
Craig Ingraham formed FREEDOM QUEST while living in San Diego in the early 1970''s. They didn''t play often but when they did, the music was great and the feeling was Woodstock. Afternoon, outdoor concerts at the Starlight Bowl in Balboa Park were amazing. 3,000 young San Diegans, hippies and sailors alike, grooving together to FREEDOM QUEST. It was magic. Part of the band lived in San Diego: Kent Johnson on vocals, Bill Richardson on violin and vocals, Maxine Sherman on flute, and percussionist Sodie Arcia. Debora Masterson also sang with the band and lived with Craig in North Park. The rest of the band lived in Los Angeles: drummer Elvio Ditta, bass player Brian Magness and keyboardist, a very young David Benoit. These three fine, generous musicians would drive to San Diego to rehearse and spend the night at Craig and Deb’s place. It was a remarkable time. These seven studio recordings (42 minutes) written by Craig Ingraham are the only recordings of FREEDOM QUEST. They reflect both the turmoil and optimism of the times.
