Inspired by her mother at only nine-years-old, Ajia began trying to make a name for herself, by developing her rap skills at such an early age. Ajia was 14 years old when she began actually writing songs, having dubbed the name “Lil Biz” when she and a friend formed the hip hop and R&B duo group “GMTA.” Sadly, when the group fell apart, Ajia decided to go in a different direction as a solo artist and picked up the name “Kiko” a.k.a. “Madame Butterfly,” being fond of Japanese culture, she figured she could go by something that shines some light on her interests. Hoping to break into the music industry one day, Kiko hopes to change “the game” with her old school, laidback and lyrically talented songs, wanting to prove that it takes talent to make it big, especially as a female hip hop artist, and not just looks and a good beat.
