Athena Creese is a guest singer on this CD singing Fantasy Dance which is one of Julian’s eight original songs on the album. Others were written by songwriting friends and great musical talents, Gary Edwards, Happy Anderson, Christopher Weber and Ruthie Steele who was inducted into America’s Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006 along with her brother Max D. Barnes. Toleafoa Maua Miller is the credited writer of Le Taeao.
All songs tell a story and Legacy of Love conveys a specific message. This song was written in honor of the memory of one of the most famous entertainers of all time, Michael Jackson and his adoring fans. While recording this song, we realized that each of us will relate to this song at some point in our life.
Julian chose the outstanding voice of Jazz, R&B, and Pop vocalist Lyn Jackson to join him on this moving tribute. As lead singer of “The Sequins,” Lyn had a Top 40’s Hit, “Hey Romeo,” on the Billboard R&B charts. She has performed with James Brown, The Staple Singers, and Al Green. She opened for Minnie Riperton, The Chi-Lites, Lou Rawls and Regina Bell.
Everyone who worked on this CD is extremely talented in their own right, whether at be a songwriter, vocalist, engineer, musician, photographer or graphic designer. The incredibly gifted and talented Ted Jordan, movie and music producer, had enormous insight into the creative process by understanding the “feel” we wanted for each song. With Julian’s ideas and vision for the song in mind he was able to create the arrangements and instrumentation to best suit the mood of each song.

We dedicated this album to Billy “Teddy” Shelton our friend and an exceptional musical and vocal talent. We were all looking forward to working together on a few songs on Embracing LOVE however he was taken from us unexpectedly days before our recording session. We will always remember you and never forget your legacy of love.
