Music is ever present in our daily lives. It moves us, inspires us and calms us. Music helps us express ourselves when words just aren''t enough.
Mckenzie was born in the hot summer month of July on the 31st day, to a military man and a young girl from Mississippi. The family moved often, from base to base, across the states in the south.
Always an avid reader, she began writing poetry and short stories at an early age. In time, these writings became the songs that tell the journey of her life.
As a child, she sang in the church choir and played the flute. During her high school years, she picked up the guitar and taught herself to play. And so her love affair with music began...
As she journeyed through life, becoming a wife and mother, she had her writing and her guitar to guide her through life''s ups and downs. Her music became part of her... it became her passion.
Throwing off all the constraints of “how to write music”, she began to write what
was in her heart and the music began to flow.
Mckenzie believes that it is "Never Too Late" to follow your dreams and passions. Don’t be afraid of failure, instead welcome it with open arms, because it is only with failure that we can begin to grow….
