Fritz Kreisler 1875-1957 was unique as violin virtuoso stylist and a composer of highest quality timeless violin compositions. He transcribed a number of his pieces for his brother, cellist Hugo Kreisler, and recorded a few of them with Fritz Kreisler as a piano accompanist. Paul Olefsky has performed/recorded/broadcast many of these gems for over sixty years internationally. Intention of this recording is to glimpse the violinist humanity of Kreisler''s while setting forth the cello''s voice character in the extended tessitura range. The chosen pieces demonstrate Kreisler''s international styles-baroque, French, Spanish, Italian, Viennese; Irish; Chinese; Russian; etc. Many cultures are represented. Great cellist remembered for their performance of Kreisler works are the incomparable Emmanuel Feuermann; and wonderful personalities Ennio Bolognini and Arnold Foldesy.
