They were voted one of the Top 10 Best Unsigned Bands in Boston for 1999 by The Boston Tab, "Producer/ multi- instrumentalist/vocalist Munk delivers, via an indelible fingerprint of eccentricity married with pop-sensibility, a "sonic smorgasbord" of phat hip-hop beats, crushing, funky guitar and irrepressible hooks".

Assisting is Boston''s "Lord of the Boom-Bap" Troy Velazquez who brings his highly sought after, brilliantly unique mastery of electronic triggering symbiotically coupled with rock solid acoustic pockets to the "buffet". Rounding out the groovy trio is the former bass player for monster Boston funk outfit Chucklehead, Mick Demopoulos, who shows a new side to his funky flow, dipping into influences that span old school funk and jazz exploration.

The Noise, Boston —
Described as "a sonic palette of trip-hop, funk, jazz and rock combined with irrepressible pop melodies" this self-titled debut from super G is dressed to impress. Their sound is big and powerful, with stylistic nods to Nine Inch Nails, Count Zero, Living Colour, Curtis Mayfield, Alice in Chains and all kinds of groovy sounds and trippy samples. The songs are damn catchy. This is what Lenny Kravitz would sound like if he actually had artistic merit.

The trio consisting of bassist Mick D. (x-Chucklehead), drummer Troy Velazquez (x-Avatar Blue) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Munk are a completely tight fighting groove unit with punchy rhythms, groovy beats and killer harmonies.

The first song "Disorder" sneaks up on you with a Trent Reznor-like snarl and then, "WHAM" the pop orgy begins. The second song, "Cold", is like taking a bubble bath in soulful groove. This is followed by the groovalicious "Everyday" with its Hendrix-meets-Talking Heads guitar riffs and Stereo MC sonic textures. There are lots of layers of cool to enjoy. "For All The Good" might have been a more acoustic driven song, yet it still kicks unlike most sensitive college rock, which this could have easily become.

Did I say I like this band?? Like most debut releases, this band tries really hard to impress, giving us the solid groove and doing it well. If their live shows are this good, I might have to become a fan.
