Details:
Dave Babak and Steve Boker formed a 12 string guitar and fiddle duo in 1975. Playing the folk music scene in Denver, they ruffled the tail feathers of folk traditionalists with their electric and eclectic music. Told to stop playing that crazy electric violin or don''t come back to the Denver Folklore Center, they chose to play their own music their own way.

Babak and Boker''s genre is hard to categorize, being a blend of traditional acoustic folk and the in-your-face wall-of-sound that later became popular in alternative rock. Some called them "punk folk" and others called them "old-timey rock".

They have played venues large and small including a turn at an anti-nuclear demonstration at Rocky Flats with Jackson Browne, at the Cafe Nepenthes, open air festivals in Larimer Square, and at Denver''s original Mercury Cafe on South Lincoln where they auditioned in the kitchen.

They got the job.

The songwriting duo later formed the original rock band Crawford with Phil Klum, Norm Hill, Gail Adams, and Nick Stoner. Crawford played at venues such as The Mercury, The Four Mile House, The Prospect, Cricket on the Hill, Ziggies and the Mangy Moose. Crawford also headlined at KFML''s Day in The Park, were featured on radio and TV in Denver and played center stage at the Capitol Hill People''s Fair.

This is the first release of an album that harkens back to Babak & Boker''s original duo sound and was recorded at Triple Helix Sound in Denver. Recording engineer was Robert van Arsdale. The analog mixdown tape was digitized at Triple Helix Sound in Charlottesville. The CD was mastered at Phillip Klum Mastering in New York City. Back cover photos are courtesy of Bob Cook.
