Details:
Everyone sat around the apartment on Duke Street late one October night writing ideas for band names on post-its and sticking them to the wall, most of which had been generated from a band name generator online hours before. Victor Rivera, Jenn Blaisdell, AJ Nutter, and Rose Principe, all of the artist collective, 16 Pound Rabbit contributed in picking a band name. It boiled down to two names, “Gypsy Vision of the Electronica” and everyone’s favorite, “Seed of the Transformer”.

The project, as I was told started in Jenn Blaisdell’ s Grandmother’ s house, which is located near Shippensburg University. When I now recall the day, it all started in the attic of the house. Jenn’s grandmother was in the process of moving and thin layers of dust had settled on the boxes. AJ had been photographing the area with Jenn earlier that day. They had stopped by to help move a few items for Jenn’ s grandmother. As they were helping out, they found a box with old medicines nearly a decade past there due and in it was the audio car tour of Gettysburg PA battle grounds, a cassette tape made back in the early 80’s that is now out of print. This item was too good to pass up, it had to be taken and manipulated.

In ripping the narration, as I was told, formulated together with strange dance tunes created by AJ Nutter relates to some kind of electronic connection to one of the most famous battles to ever take place in American History. Famous Generals such as Robert E. Lee as well as President Abraham Lincoln would have their very own songs. The narration resonates not only as a history lesson to some degree, but also a sense of Country and heritage. It is now easy to see why so many people have found this project to be so interesting.
