Details:
After about 5 years of writing party rock, HSG decided to take a small hiatus. When they came back together they were short a bass player but strong on song ideas. So the two remaining members, Stephen Sullivan and Brian Carnes, decided to write something more challenging, meaningful, a little darker and a little uplifting all at the same
time. Crashing On A Bright Ride was the result. The album name was chosen because when you crash on a bright ride cymbal the sound fills the room and is almost unbearable but it can be a very spiritual thing. They kept thier minds open to try different musical ideas when recording the songs and so they decided to put organ tacks in some of the
songs. They brought in Seth Piper, the musical mind behind The Evergreen Sept, to lay down the organ tracks. He is now a permanant addition to the band.
While the band was still searching for a new bass player, Stephen layed down all the bass tracks for the album. The new bass position now goes to Patrick Sullivan. Although Patrick does not play bass on the album, he helped put down some percussion and vocal parts on the Never Forever tracks. They recorded, produced and mastered the album themselves at Stickman Studios in Bowling Green, Virginia.
