Ian Mouser grew up in the forests of Southern Oregon singing in church choirs, playing the trumpet, riding horses, counting sheep and mending fences. His eduction in popular music began at the age of 18 with the blues artists found in his step-father’s record collection, such as, Lightnin Hopkins, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker. Mouser learned to play the guitar while listening to those artists and began a long journey of performing with various bands throughout the northwest, (the most note worthy of them being the Portland band, Another Cynthia). Mouser currently spends most of his time as the Founder/Director of the nonprofit organization, My Voice Music (MVM). MVM''s mission is to engage marginalized youth in music and performance in order to promote self-esteem, social skills and emotional expression.
His journey in music has taken him to the Philippines to play for a humanitarian aid project and across the western states on various tours. He has played guitar and sang in blues based, pop, and electronic bands who have had their music played at the MTV Video Music Awards and on several television shows and radio stations world wide.
Mouser’s first solo album, A Rose Revolution, showcased his range of style and talents as a songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist. His song, Red Cross, was covered by local blues player, Colin Lake, and garnered the attention of national press while being distributed nationwide in Relix Magazine.
Mouser’s newest albums, "When It Rains" and "Is This All" were released together in 2011. They represent two different sides of his music; one side being electronic gips and pops, the other being stripped down acoustic material. The songs included on this album, "Is This All" include the fully produced electronic songs mentioned above.
