Luiz Simas is a world-renowned pianist/composer/singer. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
"Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Forest)" is a solo piano suite in three movements, with a Brazilian flavor, impressionistic colors, beautiful melodies, and inspired by the endangered Brazilian Atlantic Forest. This album is a departure from what he usually does, since Mr. Simas work has mostly been in the styles of Brazilian Jazz, Brazilian pop and choro. He has also written other (classical) pieces for small ensembles, as well as many pieces for solo piano.
