ROBERT W. (ANDYBOB) ANDERSON

Andybob was born at Saint Mary’s Hospital South San Francisco in June of 1948. His mother Catherine Mary of London, England and His father, Gene William Anderson (played sand lot baseball with Dominic and Joe DiMaggio) moved the family when Andybob was five years old to a farm in the small community of Arboga 35 miles north of Sacramento and 3 miles south of Marysville California.

Andybob entered Arboga grammar school and graduated 8TH grade in June of 1962. Through those years he learned to love and value his country life as all young boys’ wood. Andybob’s claim to fame in grammar school was his 6th and 7th grade accomplishments. He won the Yuba County Duncan yoyo championships in 1961 and 1962 and the Yuba Country basket ball free throw championship 24 of 25 shots each year. At the beginning of his grammar school he met his lifelong and best friend, Terrell B. Costello. Terry was best man at Andybob’s wedding in June of 1968. Andybob played for the little league team the Panthers and hit one home run off, you guessed it Terry.

Andybob entered Marysville Union High School in 1962 and graduated in June of 1966. He had only one claim to fame he met his wife, Maria (Yuba City High) and were married in June of 1968 after she graduated. They had 3 sons Daniel, Richard and Andrew.

Andybob joined the Air Force in July of 1967 and completed basic training in Amarillo Texas. He was a Physiological training technician/Superintendent working closely with aircrew members who flew T-37 trainers to SR-71 spy planes. Andybob’s claim to fame in the Air Force was a retirement as a Senior Master Sergeant 1 Sep 1987 and 9 Air Force Base Golf Championships. Three were at Sheppard Air Force Base 79, 80 81 and six at in a row Beale AFB 1983-1988. Andybob also won the Sheppard AFB 14/1 pocket billiards championship 1979, 80, 81 to go with the other 7 he won at various Bases during his career.

Andybob was hired as Coyote Run Golf Course Manager/Head Golf Professional in July 1988 and retired due to medical problems with his knees on 23 October 2004.

Andybob and his wife of 43 years now spend their time on a small farm with various animals in the foothills of northeastern California. He puts a pen to paper to share his life with you. You can realize the who, what, and why of his Pure Country Poems and his life’s experiences and compassion for it. Type the title of any poem in your computers search block and you may enjoy any Pure Country Poem as a song. As Andybob’s Mom always said, “God Bless You” and he wishes that for everybody.
