Alycia LaShae, a native of Kansas City, MO began singing at an early age and music has always remained at the center of her heart. She cultivated her skills by attending various workshops and seminars such as Grammy Award winner O’landa Draper’s Music Lovers Conference and The Gospel Heritage Foundation Praise and Worship Conference, under the leadership of some of the greatest names in the gospel music industry, such as Donald Lawrence, Donnie McClurkin, Israel Houghton, Doen Moen and many more. Alycia LaShae also had the opportunity to sing a duet with Melvin Williams of the Grammy nominated Williams Brothers. Some of her influences include Nicole C. Mullen, CeCe Winans, and Lisa McClendon, just to name a few.
While establishing herself as a singer she began to discover her skills as a songwriter. She has attended songwriting classes led by V. Michael McKay, Richard Smallwood and Dove Award winning Sue Smith. Alycia LaShae is a true songwriter, having penned all songs on her current compilation through simplistic lyrics she tells stories that convey strong messages that prick the heart.
