Details:
This Geechy South Carolinian’s music began in the streets of Loris; a small town located in the Myrtle Beach region of South Carolina. Geechy meaning: “southern with island influence” - a language and culture dating back to the days of slavery.
He began rapping at an early age; entering local talent shows and winning the respect and support from everyone who heard him perform. His career got its first spark when AB, a former member of the early rap group R.I.F, received a copy of Bruce’s CD from a friend. AB was blown away by Bruce’s style and sent his CD to legendary producer Easy Mo Bee in Brooklyn to review. Mo Bee was highly impressed with the artist and sought him out to discuss a possible production or label deal with himself and other business acquaintances. Bruce was flown to New York where he recorded a number of songs at Quad Studios in Manhattan. He met and collaborated with native New York artists Philmore and Masta Killa from Wu Tang Clan. Among the songs recorded were Can’t Change, Where I Live, and Find a Way. Bruce Wayne was the only unsigned artist today that Easy Mo Bee felt strongly enough to work with before his officail record deal. Bruce returned to the south and began preparing his album for release. He has since worked with Atlanta artists Wise Guy and Bone Crusher. The arsenal on his soon to be released album includes club bangers like Big Girls Do It Right and Hambone.
Bruce Wayne is indeed one of the hottest new indie artists representing the south today.
His lyrics are catchy and convincing, and his Geechy style; reminiscent of that of Scarface and Trick Daddy, immediately captivates you from verse one. The South now has a new savior hailing from the streets of South Kakalak. Look for his upcoming album entitled "Mr. Geech"; scheduled for release in April 2011.
