''Birth Of A Catastrophe’ was the brainchild of Bassist Peter Poleon. Back in 2006 he decided he needed a creative outlet, so he paired up with his best friend Seth Carncross and started writing. ‘Birth Of A Catastrophe’ was originally intended to be just a studio project, so the duo gathered up some of their friends and started writing. After recording their EP ‘The Tale Of Vendito Bapada’ in 2007, most of the band went their separate ways. Seth signed up for the Army, and shortly after was shipped off to the war in Iraq. Unbeknown to them at the time, that would be the last time the duo would ever see each other. October 26, 2007 Private Seth Carncross died a hero, serving his country. To honor his fallen friend’s memory, Pete decided in 2008 to reform the band and carry on the legacy the two had begun. After countless tryouts, Pete had finally found the next incarnation of ‘Birth Of A Catastrophe’ in the form of Jesse, Marc, and Dan. Together they took the reins and started writing what would soon become the EP ‘Short Stories’. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of tragedy, the band has become much more than what Pete had dreamed back in 2006.... it has become the ‘Birth Of A Catastrophe’.
