Details:
Paul Price is a rock star. Paul has been winning Squash championships all his life, even placing him at number four in the world for singles squash and World Champion in doubles. He was the British Open Finalist and won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. But that was the old Paul - the Paul who wore shorts and headbands and sweat it out on a squash court. Now he can be seen sweating it out in a different way, onstage with his band, guitar and leather jacket.

Born in Melbourne, Australia Paul was ….... In proper Aussie fashion, his aunt showed him renounded rock act KISS at the young age of four, and ever since then they’ve been his guilty pleasure. In his teenage years, he started playing electric guitar and covering the likes of AC/DC and Nirvana. Paul Price states, “He has always been into music, but sports just came easier.”

Paul’s first album, Thinking Like A Stranger, was released in 2006 to very favorable reviews, which compared Paul to the likes of Radiohead and Jeff Buckley. The album was shortly followed up with the EP, Life Stains. Since then, Paul has been touring to share his talent with music and squash with the world. He has dedicated the last two years to writing his soon to be titled album. “This is the most proud I am of anything I have done... The longer you do something the better you get, so my excitement about this album is greater than ever before.” His main focus is putting all his energy into his music, and making sure he and the band sound as good as they can.

When asked if his squash fans are surprised by the fact he is now a budding musician or vice-versa, he says, “I would sit at tournaments in a hotel room and play my guitar, because there was so much down time, so my squash friends are aware of what I am doing, but when I meet new people in music, they are usually pretty amazed to know my history with sport and say “holy s***”.

For Paul, everything he set out to accomplish in squash has been done...music is what is left. He has seemingly conquered challenge after challenge and is set to release his new album in the spring of 2011 (Bent Penny Records/Universal/Fontana), followed by a tour of every nook and cranny of North America and beyond. Paul isn’t out there looking for fame, just a dedicated fan base, if he wanted to be rich he would have picked up a tennis racket.
