In addition to writing the album, Solomon is an incredible ghostwriter. Throughout his life he has been influenced by leaders such as Fred Hampton, Assata Shakur, Malcom X, Angela Davis, Leonard Peltier, Dhoruba Al-Mujahid, and Nelson Mandela, just to name a few. Not only a music messiah, but Solomon is also a messenger, where Allah''s words flow from him through a microphone to the people.
All great lyrics need great music pushing it, and that is where Jonah and Joshua Vincent shine their brightest. Since the age of two, the twins have been influenced by artists from Curtis Mayfield, Herbie Hancock, and The Count Basie Big Band to Third Eye Blind, Maroon 5, and many others in-between. In addition to producing, the brothers are also true musicians. Jonah, trumpet player, has performed with Antonio Hart; the legendary drummer, Ed Thigpen; and James Brown''s Trombonist, Fred Wesley. Joshua not only plays the trombone in NCCU’s Jazz Big Band, but also uses his musical gift along with his education in history to lead his brothers and sisters to mental freedom. Their high level of talent and extra-ordinary skill has allowed the brothers to express themselves through music all across the country; from New York to New Orleans, Atlanta to Los Angeles.
When placed together, all three of them create music that will change the world. Beatnam Vets’ sound is like nothing you''ve ever heard before, yet something the world definitely needs more of.
