Like many of the older country singers, Terry focuses on a more traditional sound with a little country rock production. He believes when you love something you give it everything you have... and that is what is reflected when Terry performs for an audience. He creates an energetic force that entertains his fans from the first note to his last.
One might expect a voice such as this would come from the roots of a musical family; however, that is not the case. Terry became interested in country music at a very young age - the styles of such artist as Hank Williams Jr., Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, and George Strait were just a few of his inspirations.
Terry was born and raised in Camden, Tennessee, a small town in West Tennessee where he established his down home roots and moral beliefs. He started his singing career in a few local churches. In the mid 1980''s he auditioned for the popular show, Star Search, where he placed an astonishing 24th place among thousands of aspiring musicians. Encouraged by his first "official" audition and his genuine love of singing country music, Terry continues to entertain people with his music.
Sweeney has performed for many charity events throughout Tennessee, Ohio and has played in numerous clubs in Florida.
He is now located in Dallas, Texas and is doing what he loves; singing and performing country music. Sweeney is now booking new dates for his upcoming CD release.
