Details:
n 1988, Nathan Murphy was born in Frankfort Germany to an Army
Soldier. Shortly after, he moved to a rural Southwestern Georgia town
called Cuthbert. Cuthbert is in Randolph County, one of the poorest
towns in the United States. Murfee’s aggressive style shines in his
raps and his motto is “If you want it, take it!!”
His music career began when he was 13 years old. He was part of a
hip-hop group called the "Nova Boys". The group consisted of friends
who lived on a street called Villanova Street. They won talent shows
and performed in clubs in several Southern States. After graduating
from Randolph/Clay High School, Nathan briefly attended a community
college called Abraham Baldwin College located in Tifton, Georgia but
after one semester left to pursue his music career. Nate was then
scouted, and signed under the music management of Raymond Brown, Jr.
who really helped Murfee''s career get some traction.
A self-proclaimed Country Boy, Nate Murfee''s hip-hop style is unique
and is very lyrical with a southern country drawl. Nate''s rap styles
are mainly social/southern gangster and some club/crunk. Nate is a
realist when it comes to the struggle and what''s going on in the
streets. He believes hip-hop is a means of therapy and coping for
people in & out of the struggle.
